In its past, the Willard Neighborhood Association hosted regular fun, helpful events for the neighborhood. Since recently reconvening and in an effort to do something fun with our neighbors, WNA hosted a plant exchange February 12, 2022. The timing for the gardening cycle is great! We plan to keep hosting events as a regular part of our future meetings. We'd love to hear your ideas!
Many people of the neighborhood expressed their profound sadness by the loss of this magnificent Redwood at the entrance of Willard Park. It fell early in the morning on January 22, 2022. WNA's Friends of Willard Park Committee is looking to work with the DPRW to create a memorial to this tree that will hopefully include a portion of its trunk. Write to us and share your ideas, or better yet, come to the next meeting. Thus far, members have talked about a redwood bench or a totem. Stay tuned for more information!
One of our members asked that we mention this new organization.
Berkeley Mutual Aid is an evolving effort developed by volunteers in our Berkeley community to get neighborly support to where it is needed most.
Right now, BMA is focusing on helping people at higher risk from COVID-19 to help flatten the curve, and helping people who are being especially heavily impacted by COVID-19.
Berkeley Mutual Aid is part of BDPNN, the Berkeley Disaster Prep Neighborhood Network, which is a 501(c)3 all-volunteer nonprofit.
